Fun Fall Day at the Pumpkin Farm!
We took Jordis to her first Pumpkin Patch last weekend and they also had amusement rides, pony rides, farm animals, straw mazes, and a puppet show!
J had a GREAT time on the pony. When the ride was over she said "more!more!" :) Hopefully this means she wants to ride with mom and dad when she gets bigger ;) The piggies in the pen were seriously interesting. She makes the sounds for all the animals, although she didn't know what to do when she saw the goat.
She was hilarious in the maze, too. Whenever we came up on something scary, like a lifesize witch with a pot of whatever, she would stop and stare at it and then walk away. Just like daddy, not scared of much...while mom was off in the next section hiding :)
Anyway, enjoy these. Hopefully I will be posting the Halloween pics and our vacation pics soon as well.

A Sad Loss
We had a great vacation last week, but the day we left we had to have Miss Madeline put to sleep. We knew it was coming, but didn't know when.
She was 12, and had Cushing's Disease and we're fairly certain she had cancer, so we just wanted to make her as comfortable as possible during her last days, instead of putting her through chemo. We knew we had to take her to the vet when she couldn't breathe right and stopped eating. Our girl didn't pass up a meal before in her life :)
So we are moving on, and miss her terribly, horribly, everyday. We have her with us, though, her ashes and a framed pawprint, so she's never really that far away.
Although we think we gave her a great 12 years here on earth, we're sure she's got all the t-bones, sunspots, and naps she can handle in the great beyond. Plus, most of her brothers and sisters (the other 9 of them!) are probably with her too :)

September Updates!
Since Anita has been back to work since July, the blog has suffered! Yes, we are still around, but the free time has totally dwindled!
We hope you enjoy these recent ones. Jordis is running, talking like crazy, imitating stuff we do (especially cooking) and saying "No!" and "Mine!" alot. We don't care much about that, though, because she's still extremely loving and kisses just about everything :)
I can feed myself yogurt!
LOVE to color!
You caught me coloring..
Ready to attack that sprinkler..
I didn't sign up for this!

Easter!
Well, it's been a while! It was easier to update when she couldn't crawl, pull up on my leg and start beating my legs when I'm at the computer :) This girl LOVES the keyboard...it all started back with Ty's laptop in her first week.
Anyway, it was North Dakota cold here for Easter, but she was going to wear her Easter outfit, even if we had to bundle her up and take a sled dog team to church, da*mi!t. Thankfully, it didn't get that bad, and we only suffered for a little bit. J likes to talk during the prayers, by the way. Whatever she's asking for, I think God is going to hear it!
She's getting REALLY close to walking, and will walk with us holding on to only one hand, but can't quite get the courage to let go and try it. I think she sees the dog and says "well, that works for her!"
Speaking of Madeline, she is still trying to come to a truce with Jordis, but mostly makes haste when she appears. Thankfully, Jordis is growing out of the "let's hit doggie in the eye as hard as I can" phase.
She gives kisses now too, just ask. This worried Ty a little bit. She also will take off her socks on demand, and put her stuffed bunny back into the bed when asked. Actually, she does most everything you ask her to do, except stop dropping food onto the floor. And we actually "communicate" at feeding time. When she wants something, she grunts and taps it - if its' the cup, or cracker box or whatever. You can see how frustrating it is for her not to be able to form the words. So, for now, she's a caveman, but we still love her.
Ta ta for now! "White before Memorial Day? Ugh, Mom is losing it!" (note that daddy is NOT wearing white!!)

"See? She's wearing BLACK! Next year I'm picking out my Easter outfit and it better be designer!"
"Dad attempts a shampoo horn while mom snaps the camera phone. Apparently there's no peace for a baby at bath time. Paparazzi follow me in here too! At least my frog is strategically placed!" - JJ

One Year already!
On the 19th JJ had her first birthday! We went to Grandma Brenda's, where were surrounded by family and lots of food (from Panera...nobody's cooking when they cater!), along with a My Little Pony cake and plenty of gifts! Thanks to everyone :)
J did really well for being away from home and up for a lot of hours. The tissue paper was more interesting than the gifts for the most part. The icing wasn't a hit until she really got a good taste...then there was a big grin. SUGAR! She still has such a wonderful, happy personality. It's like she is just glad to be wherever she is..we are so lucky to have such a wonderful child!
She's climbing up now, and is crawling at warp speed. Mom has a hard time keeping up with her, but chasing is fun too! At our checkup she weighed 20.6 pounds and is 29" long. Exactly 50% percentile for both! We're also switching from formula to whole milk (pretty traumatic) and she is eating more and more finger food every day. She LOVES Boca burgers (yummy soy), cheese, and freeze dried fruit.
It's been quite a year for us, and it does go so fast it's hard to believe. Some days we wish we could stop time and keep her small for just a minute...but then she does something new and you know it's even more incredibly interesting each day. The next year will be just as amazing, we're sure!
Enjoy the pictures!

The excitement continues!

In the past 2 months, J has gotten 6 teeth, and we see a couple more nubs on the way...and she learned how to crawl last Saturday. Just when we thought it was never going to happen, UP on her knees and away she goes! (beeline for doggie, of course!)
